Student taken to hospital after “drug incident” at Letcher Co. school

LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Letcher County middle school student was taken to the hospital following a “drug incident” at school Tuesday.

According to Letcher County School Superintendent Denise Yonts, it happened at Letcher Middle School.

She says there were five students involved in the incident and one was taken by ambulance from the school to the hospital in Whitesburg.

Yonts would not comment on the drugs involved.

She says the Letcher County Sheriff’s Office and the school resource officer are investigating.
