Student journalists denied access to Trump rally

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Student journalists from the University of Kentucky and Transylvania University were denied access to Monday night’s presidential rally in Rupp Arena by the Trump campaign.

Reporters from UK’s student newspaper, the Kentucky Kernel, and two student editors from the Transy Rambler, were denied media access to the rally, according to the respective publications.

Transy Rambler staffers say they received an email over the weekend from Trump’s Press Office that their media credential request was denied.

Kentucky Kernel staffers say they were notified more than a week after requesting credentials.

Both publications say no reason was given for the denials.
