Stubborn clouds Thursday ahead of more rain Friday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Thursday! We are tracking a little bit of fog and mist to begin your Thursday. The clouds will take some time to clear out today. We will go from an overcast start to the day, to mostly-to-partly cloudy skies this afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the upper 50s and low 60s by the afternoon.

We are tracking more rain chances Friday into Saturday as our next system sweeps through the region. This system will come in two waves. Off and on rain showers will be likely on Friday. A few storms could be possible, but most of the activity will be showers. Late Friday into Saturday is when the bulk of the rain will be pushing through the region. There could be some storm activity along the front as it moves through on Saturday. Expect temperatures to drop behind the front. Saturday will start mild into the 50s and low 60s, before falling Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

Sunday will be a seasonably chilly day across the region. Afternoon highs will struggle to reach the mid-to-upper 40s. However, that will be short lived. Mild air returns by Monday afternoon. Monday and Tuesday of next week are both looking nice. Temperatures on Tuesday will climb into the mid-60s and that’s our Go Day on the 7-day forecast.
