Storms through Friday, with big changes this weekend
Rounds of rain and storms
Friday morning will begin with some scattered showers and t-storms. We may see a few stronger storms, especially south of Interstate 64 and west of Interstate 75. We could see winds gusting up to 55 mph with any stronger storms.
Rain will last through the afternoon, beginning to dry up around lunchtime. Then we see some dryness through the evening and early overnight hours.
It won’t take long before another round of showers and storms moves through. Tonight, a low-pressure system will track south to north through the Bluegrass. Some widespread rain and a few rumbles of thunder can be expected.
Rainfall amounts will be higher towards the south, near 1-1.5 inches. To the north, we could see 0.25-0.5 inches. Anywhere that sees a few thunderstorms could have locally higher amounts.
Windy and mild end to the week
Friday will see gusty winds, up to 20-25 mph through the afternoon. Be sure to watch out as you drive, as winds could blow cars around a bit.
Temperatures stayed mild overnight, so Friday morning is in the low 60s. By the afternoon, we’ll reach the upper 60s.
Starting the weekend, this will change as a cold front moves through. Temperatures on Saturday won’t be too bad in the 40s and 50s. But by Sunday, we’ll only be in the 20s and 30s.
Potential for snowfall
With temperatures on Sunday staying near or below freezing, we could see some scattered snow flurries. Snow will not accumulate or cause any impacts.
We’re staying cold through the start of the next work week. We’ll be watching for the mid-week potential for unsettled weather. We could possibly see some winter weather here. However, this could change as we are still quite far away.
