Madison Co. Rescue: Stock up on more than groceries
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Madison Co. Rescue Squad is reminding Kentuckians that stocking up before the incoming inclement weather should include more than a stop at the grocery store for milk and eggs.
Officials with the rescue squad say that in previous winter storms, many people run short of essential medications and heating fuel, along with food. Often, these people will then contact public safety dispatch centers and ask for emergency responders to deliver these items. Unfortunately, the state of the roads during the storms sometimes makes it impossible for responders to reach people in need.
This being the case, keep in mind that a stop at the pharmacy, and at the hardware store could be just as essential as that loaf of bread you’re putting in the grocery cart.
