State Waste Tire Program accepting tires in September

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Boyle County Department of Solid Waste Management will be accepting tires on and off the rims through the Kentucky Waste Tire Program.

This event will be held the weekend of September 27, 28 and 29. Thursday and Friday you can drop off tires from 7a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday it will be 7 a.m. until noon. Any Boyle County resident is eligible to participate.

Tire retailers, Scrap/Salvage Yards, or Recycle Businesses are not allowed. There will be state and local inspectors on site.

Foam or calcium filled tires, off road construction tires, tracks or sheet rubber, any tire with a bead greater than 1 3/4 inch or solid tires with presses-on rims are not accepted.

They will accept tires on/off rim, including farm implement, bicycle, motorcycle, go-cart, atv, tractor, truck and passenger.

You can take tires to State Highway Garage on North Stewarts Lane in Danville.
