State senator to speak at RNC

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Republican Party of Kentucky announced State Senator Ralph Alvarado of Winchester will speak at the Republican National Convention. It said he would speak around 9:00 Wednesday night.

“It is an honor to be asked to speak at the convention and to represent Kentucky on the national stage,” Alvarado said. “I strongly believe that the Republican Party is the party of opportunity for voters of all backgrounds, especially Hispanics. I plan to talk about my story as a public servant striving to make my state and nation a land of opportunity for anyone willing to work hard and persevere.”

Alvarado is a doctor. He was elected in 2014 and was the first Hispanic elected to state office in Kentucky.
