State positivity rate, other numbers continue to fall
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – While the overall numbers continue to improve, Kentucky crossed the grim milestone of 4,000 deaths, the governor reported Saturday.
On Saturday, Beshear reported 1,998 new COVID-19 cases and a positivity rate of 8.07%. The new cases brought the number of total cases 11 months since the first one was reported to 376,262.
The 49 deaths reported Saturday brought the total lost to coronavirus-related causes to 4,020. Of those, 2,296 have been in long-term care facilities while only 44,156 of the ttal cases have been linked to those facilities.
As of 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, Beshear reported the following COVID-19 numbers:
New cases today: 1,998
New deaths today: 49
Positivity rate: 8.07%
Total deaths: 4,020
Currently hospitalized: 1,294, down 24 from Friday
Currently in ICU: 318, down 12 from Friday
Currently on ventilator: 164, down three from Friday
