KSP investigating inmate death in Boyd County

UPDATE: (11/30/18, 4:31 p.m.)

An autopsy was performed on Michael Moore on Friday and according to Kentucky State Police, “criminal activity could not be ruled out as a contributing factor.”

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ)- State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at the Boyd County Detention Center.

Investigators don’t know how or why 40-year-old Michael Moore died. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Investigators say Moore was in jail on public intoxication charges.
