State police investigate police shooting in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — State Police are investigating a police shooting in Frankfort that happened early Friday morning.

According to KSP, they were chasing a suspect in a vehicle and Frankfort Police joined the pursuit.

They say the suspect was shot during the chase, but it isn’t clear yet who fired shots.

Police have Highway 127 completely shut down at West Ridge Road.

They say the suspect was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center and went into surgery.

They also say a state trooper was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

State police say Highway 127 will be shut down until at least 10 a.m. while they continue their investigation.
