State Lawmaker Accused Of Sexual Harassment Resigns

Democratic State Representative John Arnold of Sturgis, who has been accused of sexual harassment by legislative staffers, resigned on Friday.

The resignation came just days ahead of the first scheduled meeting of a special legislative committee that was formed to investigate the sexual harassment allegations against Arnold.

In the complaints, three female legislative staffers claimed that Arnold had touched them inappropriately and had made vulgar comments.

Arnold has not publicly responded to the allegations.

He did not return calls made Friday to his legislative office.
