State COVID numbers see decline across the board
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Every COVID-19 indicator saw a decline in the state’s latest report.
In Thursday’s daily report, the state announced 2,625 new COVID cases Thursday and a positivity rate of 8.67%. The numbers were down slightly from Wednesday’s 2,696. The positivity rate was also down from 9.11% on Wednesday.
The new number brought the state’s total to 708,236 cases since the first case was reported on March 6, 2020.
The state also announced 50 deaths. The state now has lost 9,022 people to COVID-related causes.
Other indicators are down as well.
The number of people in the hospital went down to 1,578 compared to 1,995 on Wednesday, 1,677 on Tuesday and 1,668 on Monday.
The number of people in intensive care also saw a decline with 472 people, down from 573 on Wednesday, Tuesday’s 494 and Monday’s 496.
The same goes for the number of people on a ventilator with 313 reported on Thursday, a decrease from the 384 reported Wednesday and 323 on Tuesday.
