UPDATE: Suspect identified after standoff in Frankfort
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now know the name of the suspect involved in a standoff Monday afternoon in Frankfort.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Joey Johnson surrendered without incident, after deputies believe Johnson was holding a woman against her will.
Deputies say the woman was rescued from the home, suffering from minor injuries from Johnson. She refused medical treatment.
Johnson faces multiple charges including, possession of crystal meth, three counts of possession of handgun, domestic violence, among other charges.
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says a standoff situation that started Monday afternoon has ended.
Deputies were called to Capital Mobile Home Park on Georgetown Road in Frankfort just after 1 p.m. to a report of a domestic violence situation, according to the sheriff.
Deputies were told a man in one of the trailers was possibly armed with a handgun.
The sheriff says they believed the man was holding a woman against her will in the home.
When he refused to come out, the sheriff says Kentucky State Police Special Response Team was called to the scene.
The standoff ended around 3:30 p.m.
No one was hurt, according to the sheriff.
