Special Olympics Kentucky holds annual Truck Pull
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Special Olympics Kentucky held it’s annual Big Brown Truck Pull Saturday.
Every year, teams get together to try to pull a UPS truck as a way to raise money for the Special Olympics.
“It’s heavy,” explained Dennis Gaines, coach of the Lexington Hustlers, a Special Olympics softball team participating in the competition.
“We work together as a team. We do a lot together as a team,” said Gaines.
The Hustlers are one of 15 teams attempting to pull the truck.
“It’s great to get to know all these people, seeing how much fun they have at this event,” said Taylor Ballinger with the Special Olympics.
Special Olympics Kentucky expects to raise a record $45,000 this year. They say they’ve raised well over a quarter of a million since this event began.
