Special election set for two vacant House seats

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A special election is set to be held for two vacant positions in Kentucky’s House of Representatives.

Governor Andy Beshear announced on Monday that the vacancies left by Representative Rocky Adkins, a Democrat from District 99, and Representative Dennis Keene, a Democrat from District 67, requires the special election.

The 99th District includes Elliott, Lewis and Rowan counties.  The 67th District includes Campbell County.

Both lawmakers resigned their respective seats to join the Beshear Administration.  Rocky Adkins is a Senior Advisor.  Dennis Keene is the Commissioner of the Department of Local Government.

The election is set to be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
