Soup and Bread returns for a second year in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – When the weather is cold it can be hard to find motivation to leave your warm home.
A program is Lexington is hoping to stop the isolation and bring people together.
Soup and Bread is back for a second year.
Each month, a different business will host soup and bread night. The idea is to have a warm place, warm food, and happy people.
The program runs on donations and it’s pay what you can for the meal.
All of the proceeds go back to non-profit feeding services in Lexington.
“It’s a time in the year where folks have a really hard time wanting to leave their houses and if we create a space that’s warm with really delicious food maybe it will encourage folks to come together,” said Shelby Wheeler.
The first event is Thursday night from 6pm-8pm at Wild Fig Coffee and Books.
