Sound barrier wall project on New Circle Road to begin
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Drivers should be aware of a new project on New Circle Road/KY 4 that will impact traffic.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, construction will begin on a sound barrier wall on the East side of the interchange ramp. The project will connect Westbound US 60 to Northbound New Circle Road and along New Circle Road. The wall will be 0.48 miles long.
The project is expected to be finished by Aug. 15, 2022.
Starting Monday, Oct. 4 and until further notice, a temporary shoulder closure will be in effect between milepoints 4.80 and 5.20. The shoulder closure will reduce the number of Inner Loop lanes to one, with the Inner Loop lane remaining open.
There will be no blasting for the project as shafts will be drilled for the wall.
The project is located in the area of the Saddle Club neighborhood.
