Sopping wet Morehead park needs help to re-open
MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A local park in Morehead is covered in mud and debris after heavy storms in the area, and Parks and Recreation is looking for help to get the place opened again.
According to the Parks and Recreation director, the park’s pool is flooded with dirty water, and the playground needs to be re-mulched. The park also houses the field used by the Rowan Co. High School baseball team, so they are trying to get the park re-opened as soon as possible.
Parks and Recreation says they are estimating clean-up will cost about $5,000 dollars in dirt, mulch, and gravel to bring the park back into operation.
They have had volunteers and fraternities pitch in to help out, as well as local inmates. If you would like to lend a hand, you can contact Kelly Ford at (606) 784-8686, Ext. 22.
