SOAR Summit postponed due to anticipated weather

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- State officials have postponed the Shaping Our Appalachian Region which was scheduled for Monday.

Nearly a thousand people were pre-registered to be there, more expected to sign up at the door. In a quote from the SOAR executive director, he says, "Our first priority is keeping our citizens safe and it won’t be safe to have people traveling tomorrow if this storm comes through."

The director says he’ll announce a new date as soon as possible.
