Small plane crash in Hopkins Co.

HOPKINS CO., Ky. (WTVQ) –  A pilot crash landed a plane behind a Kentucky church.

State Police say say the small plane crashed behind the Gospel Assembly Church in Hopkins Co. Tuesday morning.  Police say the pilot was trying to land at the airport in Dawson Springs when he reported engine problems.  The pilot missed the airport by about a half mile and clipped a tree before skidding to a stop in a field.

The pilot was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
