UPDATE: Progress continues on slide repairs for portion of KY 1556 in Harlan County

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Slide repair operations move farther down KY 1556 in Harlan County.

The road work will continue Tuesday, Aug. 24 from mile points 1.47-1.82, or Bobs Creek, with the road being closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day with traffic released intermittently during work hours.

The work is expected to be done by Friday, Sept. 3.

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – The slide repair operations being conducted on a portion of KY 1556 in Harlan County are still ongoing.

The road work will continue Thursday, Aug. 12 from mile points 0.18-0.95, or Bobs Creek, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until Friday, Aug. 20.

Traffic will be released intermittently during work hours.

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists that slide repair operations continue and are expected to end Friday, August 6 at 6 p.m. on a portion of KY 1556 from mile points 0.80-0.95 (Bobs Creek) in Harlan County.

The road closure will be in effect beginning from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day with traffic released intermittently during work hours.

KYTC asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
