Sleeping man wakes up to fire in his bedroom
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A fire that started in a bedroom causes extensive damage to a Lexington home.
Firefighters say they were called to the home on Tatesbrook Drive at around 11:50 p.m. Monday.
They say a smoke detector went off, waking up the homeowner, who realized there was a fire in the bedroom he was sleeping in.
He was able to make it out of the home safe.
No one else was in the home.
The fire damaged the upstairs portion of the home. There was also damage downstairs.
Firefighters say they are not sure what caused the fire, but say it was not caused by fireworks.
