Skateboarder struck on Lexington road, driver leaves scene

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police are trying to find the driver that hit a skateboarder early Friday morning, then left the scene.

Police say they were called to Richmond Road and Fairwood Lane at 3:15 a.m.

They found a man suffering from serious injuries.

Police say he was conscious as he was being taken to the hospital.

Another driver witnessed the incident and tells police the skateboarder was on Richmond Road crossing to Fairwood Lane when he was hit by a white or cream-colored SUV.

The driver of the SUV did not stop.

Police are looking for the SUV and say it likely has damage to the front, left side from the impact.
