UPDATE: Grand jury dismisses charges against UK football players

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Six University of Kentucky football players were not indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday, Sept. 29 as all burglary charges were dismissed.

The wanton endangerment charge filed against Vito Tisdale was also dismissed by the grand jury.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Burglary charges against six University of Kentucky football players are headed to the Fayette County Grand Jury as is an endangerment charge against one of the players.

All six were scheduled for preliminary hearings in Fayette County District Court Wednesday morning, but waived their hearings and forwarded the cases to the grand jury.

Vito Tisdale has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after being identified as the man pointing a handgun at one of the victims in a March 6 incident at a private party.

The other five are Reuben Adams, Robert McClain, Andru Phillips, Ernest Sanders IV and Joel Williams.

During their arraignment last week, the six entered not guilty pleas.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Six University of Kentucky football players were charged Thursday, following an incident that police say involved burglary and wanton endangerment.

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, a private party being thrown at a residence. During the party, three individuals entered the residence uninvited and were asked to leave. The individuals became upset and threatened they would return, police said in a statement.

A short time later, the three individuals returned with additional people and the group forced their way into the residence. One suspect was observed pointing a firearm at a victim, police alleged.

As a result of the investigation, six suspects have been charged with first-degree burglary. In addition, Vito Tisdale has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment after being identified as the man pointing a handgun at one of the victims.

The other five are Reuben Adams, Robert McClain, Andru Phillips, Ernest Sanders IV and Joel Williams.
