Sign installation on US 25E in Barbourville

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be installing signs to extend the 45 mph speed zone on US 25E in Barbourville. The speed zone currently ends at mile point 10.460 (about 400 feet south of East Barbourville Drive).

KYTC says the 45 mph zone is being extended to include the intersections with south KY 11 (Daniel Boone Drive) and KY 2420 (Knox Street). The 45 mph speed zone will end 820 feet north of KY 2420 at MP 11.1. The beginning of the 45 mph speed zone south of Barbourville is not being altered.

District 11 traffic crews plan to install signs for the extension of the 45 mph speed zone on Friday, September 7.
