“Shots Fired” call leads to police chase in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A “shots fired” call Thursday night in Lexington led to a police chase with two suspects bailing out of a car and running from officers, according to Lexington Police.

Investigators say the call came in shortly after 8:00 p.m. in the 500 block of Radcliffe Road.

A short time later, officers spotted a car matching the suspect vehicle around Limestone Street and New Circle Road and tried to pull it over.  Police say the car took off, leading officers on a chase that ended on Seventh Street when the suspects stopped the car, jumped out and took off running.

Police say one of the two suspects was caught and was brought in for questioning.  The other suspect was still on the run.  No names were released.

Investigators say they found evidence in the abandoned car that shots had been fired from the vehicle.

Police say so far, they haven’t found any property damage or injuries from the shots that were fired.

The investigation is ongoing.
