Sheriff: Suspect used ambulance as getaway vehicle
KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies say a theft suspect faked a heart attack to get away from them.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to a home in Corbin on Friday for a report of a handgun theft.
Deputies learned the suspect, 35-year-old Kenneth Ray Couch, of Corbin, was picked up by ambulance at a business after pretending to have a heart attack.
When the ambulance arrived at the hospital, they say Couch got out of the ambulance and walked to the cafeteria.
Deputies say they found Couch inside the cafeteria and arrested him.
He is charged with burglary and falsely reporting an incident.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department says Couch is also wanted on a bench warrant out of Caldwell County for failure to appear on two counts of theft by deception for cold checks.
