Sheriff: Somerset man arrested after blocking school bus
SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) -A Somerset man has been arrested after deputies say he got into an altercation last week with a school bus driver and then blocked the bus from dropping off students.
Deputies say it happened Thursday, September 10 at around 3:45 p.m. after deputies were dispatched to Fox Haven Drive. Investigators say 31-year-old James G. Long was blocking Pulaski Co. School Bus 1306. The driver of the bus told deputies that earlier, Long had slammed on his brakes in front of the bus without warning, and then got out of his vehicle and approached the bus, yelling at the driver. The driver says he had to take evasive measured to avoid rear-ending Long. Then, after the bus was able to continue on its route, dropping off three children, Long again blocked the bus from going any further.
After gathering statements at the scene as well as reviewing bus security video, a warrant was issued for Long. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple counts of kidnapping, as well as wanton endangerment. He was taken to the Pulaski Co. Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
