Sheriff: Parents trafficking heroin with baby present

JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Boyle County couple was arrested Tuesday for reportedly trafficking heroin with their 9-month old baby present, according to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office. K-9 Deputy Casey McCoy conducted a narcotics investigation at a home in Junction City.

Deputy McCoy says he found James Leese of Junction City in the home and that Leese was wanted out of Boyle County on two felony warrants. Deputy McCoy says Chasity Luttrell of Danville was also in the home. Both Leese and Luttrell were arrested for Trafficking Heroin 1st Degree and taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.

The couple was also charged with Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree (controlled substance under 16-years of age) and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, according to investigators. Luttrell was also charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension, according to Deputy McCoy.

Social Services was called and the baby was left with family members, according to Sheriff Marty Elliott.
