Sheriff: Intoxicated woman comes to school to pick up children

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Scott County Sheriff says a woman was arrested after arriving at Eastern Elementary School to pick up some students while intoxicated.

The Sheriff says Andrea Wells-Medlock came into the school’s office on October 17th, and staff noticed that she appeared to be under the influence.

A deputy, regularly stationed at the school, came to investigate, and determined that Wells-Medlock was on methadone.

The deputy says 3 children were in the car that came with her to the school.

Wells-Medlock was taken to the hospital to be checked out before being sent to jail, charged with public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The children were given to a family member.

A mugshot for Wells-Medlock was not immediately available.
