Sheriff: Drug-soaked gummy worms found during bust

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies make what they call a “troubling” find during a drug bust in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says deputies went to search a home on Coolbrook Drive Sunday morning and found high-grade marijuana, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, marijuana vape pens and “gummy-worm” type candy soaked in what is believed to be liquid Xanax.

Deputies say Xanax-laced items are far more dangerous and unpredictable to consume than gummies laced with THC, which is found in marijuana.

Gummies and vape pens laced with THC have become increasingly more common in Franklin County, according to investigators.
