Sheriff: Brother & Sister’s Fight Ends With Fire Started in Home
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Laurel County Sheriff John Root says that a woman is behind bars after she started a fire in response to a fight she had with her brother.
According to the Sheriff, Deputies arrested 29-year-old Brittany Blackwell, of London, on Tuesday morning at about 11:10 a.m.
Deputies say they were called to a home on Ravenwood Circle on a report that Blackwell and her brother had been involved in an argument. Investigators say her brother had gone to his bedroom and locked the door to get away from her.
According to deputies, Blackwell told her brother that she was going to burn the house down, and then a short time later, he smelled smoke. The Sheriff says when her brother opened the door, he found a small fire in the hallway in front of his bedroom.
Deputies found Blackwell walking on Ravenwood Circle where they arrested her.
She has been charged with wanton endangerment and arson.
Blackwell was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
