SHERPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Shepherdsville are searching for a woman they say dragged and ran over an officer with her car on Sunday night.
Officers say the assault happened in the 1500 block of Kentucky 44W just after 11:00 p.m. Investigators say they were trying to take 31-year-old Taira L. Litsey into custody on an outstanding warrant when she ran to her vehicle and took off, dragging an officer and running over his leg.
Police chased after her, but she managed to get away. The officer was taken to University Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say the car Litsey was driving, a Chrysler Sebring convertible, was found abandoned in the 2000 block of KY 44W. Police believe she may now be driving a bronze 2002 Buick Park Avenue, with a KY license plate of 540-ECY. Officers say that the car was reported stolen Monday morning. According to investigators, the Buick has damage to the rear bumper, and has a “Friends of Coal” sticker.
