Shepherdsville bans smoking in vehicles with children inside

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A new ordinance goes into effect May 16 in Shepherdsville that bans smoking in vehicles with children inside. The ordinance covers children up to 18-years old.

The measure is a secondary offense, which means that smoking in a vehicle with children inside can’t be the only reason a law enforcement officer would pull a driver over.

Violators of the new ordinance could be fined up to $250.

Shepherdsville Police will be in charge of enforcing the new ordinance.
