Severe weather affects trash, recycling pickup

MT. STERLING, Kentucky – Severe weather and bad roads across central Kentucky are keeping Rumpke trash collectors from their regular schedules.

Rumpke cancelled collections on Monday and Tuesday, but say they will be back on a regular schedule on Wednesday, as road conditions permit.

Rumpke customers that didn’t receive service Monday and Tuesday of this week will be collected the week of Feb. 23, on their normal collection day. Rumpke will not limit the amount of trash it collects from its Monday and Tuesday customers next week. Customers should still contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537 to schedule large item collection (furniture, appliances, etc.) at least 24-hours in advance.

This schedule impacts customers in the following counties: Bath, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Garrard, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford.
