Separate lawsuits accuse Federal Medical Center staff of sexual assault

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two inmates have filed lawsuits against the Federal Medical Center prison in Lexington, claiming sexual abuse and harassment by guards and staff and a third lawsuit is expected, according to court records and attorneys involved in the cases.

All three cases involve Lexington FMC inmates who allege harassment, abuse, or rape during their confinement.

Both cases allege the assaults occurred in 2019. The individual inmates make claims against different staff members.

They also allege management and supervisors did nothing to prevent the alleged assaults or punish the staff after the conduct was reported. They also allege they suffered retailiation.

Both lawsuits request jury trials.

The lawsuits were filed April 28 and May 8. The prison has not yet filed responses.
