Sen. McConnell visited UK following $87 million grant
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, welcomed U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar to Lexington Monday.
This, after UK received its largest federal grant in school history, about $87 million.
They were joined by University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto, members of the Kentucky Delegation and Trump Administration officials for an event recognizing the federal grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The grant will be used by UK for the Kentucky CAN (Communities and Networks) HEAL (Helping End Addiction Long-term) program, which is a large-scale, community intervention project designed to facilitate collaboration amongst providers, law enforcement, harm reduction providers, community coalitions and government officials, according to a press release.
