Secretariat statue moving from Oklahoma to Kentucky
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A bronze statue of legendary racehorse Secretariat is moving to Kentucky.
Sculptor Jocelyn Russell, created the statue in Norman, Oklahoma.
The statue is the largest ever rendering of the triple crown winner.
It stands about 13 feet tall and weighs around 4,000 pounds.
It also features jockey Ron Turcotte riding on top.
There will be an unveiling and dedication ceremony at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Keeneland.
Then on Monday the statue will be moved to the middle of the roundabout at Old Frankfort Pike and Alexandria Drive.
