Second burglary in one month at Franklin County Humane Society

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Franklin County Humane Society is dealing with another burglary – the second in a month.

The Frankfort Police Department says it received the call at around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they say they found a broken window and cash missing.

No animals were injured.

This burglary comes after another one at the shelter back on November 11.

More than $1,000 in cash and $2,000 in checks from donations were taken in that burglary.

Frankfort Police say it isn’t the only burglary they responded to on Wednesday.

They say the VFW at 571 East Main was also broken into and several bottles of liquor was taken.

The Frankfort Police Department is asking anyone with information on these break-ins to call Officer Peden or Detective Stratton at (502) 875-8523. Information can also be given anonymously by calling Frankfort Crime Stoppers at (502) 875-8648 or on the web at. Crimes Stoppers may pay cash rewards up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.
