Seasonably cooler day on Wednesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Wednesday! Temperatures take a hit today with afternoon highs struggling to reach the low 70s. There will be an isolated chance of a few midday and afternoon rain showers but most locations will stay dry. We should be in the upper 70s for late May, but many areas may struggle to get out of the upper 60s today. Any rain shower chances will exit overnight, giving way to partly cloudy skies and some patch dense fog to begin the morning hours on Thursday.

After that fog fades, you can expect mostly sunny skies to return for the midday on Thursday. Temperatures will remain below average, only reaching the low-to-mid 70s. It will feel very comfortable out there as well. Dewpoints will stay in the low 50s and upper 40s. Remember, low dewpoints means less moisture in the air, while higher dewpoints mean there is more moisture in the air making it feel muggy. The comfortable feel to the air continues to close out the week on Friday as well. Friday is our CRC Roofing “Go Day”! No weather concerns outside of some patchy fog in the morning hours. Morning temperatures will also fall into the upper 40s for most areas as well.

Rain chances start to increase a bit into the weekend. Saturday will likely start dry but rain chances will return by the late day and evening hours. The weekend doesn’t look like a washout but there will be shower and storm chances around. The unsettled pattern will continue into next week, especially by the middle-to-end of next week. The Climate Prediction Center is highlighting most of the region for slightly above average rainfall from June 3rd through the 10th. Temperatures will be right around average during that time period as well.
