Searchers looking for missing Perry County man

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – An abandoned bicycle found near a river leads to a search for a missing man in Perry County.

Kentucky State Police say a driver noticed the bicycle over an embankment off Highway 550 near Hominy Mill Road near the North Fork of the Kentucky River on Sunday.

Police say the driver believed the bike belonged to someone he knew named Danny “Tin Can” Napier.

The river was too high Sunday to begin a search.

Troopers, along with Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officers, were out Monday after the water began to recede.

Police say Napier was last seen by family members at his home on Darb Fork Road Saturday morning.

Napier is described as being 5’10” and 175 pounds with brown eyes, long brown hair and a long beard.

Anyone with information on Napier is asked to call Kentucky State Police at (606)435-6069.
