Search for suspect accused of hitting officer

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Richmond Police Department is trying to track down a man they say hit an officer in the face.

Police say an officer stopped a suspected DUI at 1:48 a.m. Thursday.

They say 19-year-old Zaelin Crutcher was driving the car.

The officer found out Crutcher had an active felony probation violation warrant and, when he tried to place Crutcher under arrest, police say Crutcher struck the officer in the face and ran.

In addition to the warrant, Crutcher faces an additional charge of assault of a police officer.

Police are warning Crutcher is dangerous and, if spotted, should not be approached.
