Search for known suspect after three murders in Leslie County

CUTSHIN, Ky. (WTVQ) — State Police are searching for a man after they say he crashed into a state police cruiser and shot at a state trooper, in an area close to where they found three people shot dead.

According to KSP, they were called to assist Leslie County Sheriff’s deputies at Wolf Creek Road in Cutshin, where a neighbor had reported hearing gunshots just before 7 p.m.

They say one of their troopers was on the way to that address when a car coming the opposite way crashed into his cruiser.

According to state police, a man got out of that car and shot at the trooper, who returned fire.

But they say neither the trooper nor the suspect was hit or injured.

They do say there was damage to the front fender of the cruiser.

At that point, police say they lost the suspect, but later identified him as 52-year-old Paul Douglas Sizemore.

He is described as 5’10” tall and 200 lbs.

They say he was driving a black car.

Meanwhile, when Leslie County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Wolf Creek Road, they found two people dead in one home there and another person dead in a neighboring home, according to state police.

At this point, state police could not confirm the two scenes are related.

They are continuing their investigation and this page will be updated with any new information.
