Search for missing woman
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Crews are searching a trail in Lexington for a missing woman.
Police, firefighters and K9 units are all involved in the search that began after 3 a.m. Thursday when police received a call from the roommate of the missing woman.
Lexington police say the roommate told them 29-year-old Betty C. Bett went jogging at around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
He tells them she was not at home when he returned from work at around 3 a.m.
Police went to the Legacy Trail, where she went jogging.
That’s where they found her Toyota Camry, but there was no sign of Bett.
Bett is originally from Kenya.
She is 5’8″ and around 160 pounds and has braided hair.
An Air One helicopter is expected to go up as soon as the weather gets better to aid in the search.
Police are asking that people stay off the Legacy Trail while they search.
If you have any information or spot Betty C. Bett, please give police a call.
