Search for bank robbery suspect in Leslie County

HYDEN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Leslie County Monday afternoon.

Investigators say is happened just before 1 p.m. at Hyden Citizens Bank in the Hurts Creek Shopping Center off of old KY 80.

State Police say a man walked into the bank and gave a note to a teller demanding money. The teller turned over the cash to the suspect, who left the bank and was last seen walking across the parking lot of the shopping center.

The suspect is described white, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark ball cap, long sleeved navy blue sweat shirt and light blue colored jeans.

Witnesses say he was wearing sun glasses and had scruffy-looking facial hair that appeared to be a mix of dark and white hair.
