UPDATE: Arrest made in transformer hit-and-run in Scott County

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who deputies say admits to driving into a transformer, causing extensive damage and a small fire.
Deputies say Shawn Purcell was arrested Thursday and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. He was taken to jail in Scott County.
Investigators say Purcell hit the transformer box at a Quality Inn on Cherry Blossom Way and drove off Wednesday night.

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information about a driver who they say hit a transformer box, causing an explosion and small fire Wednesday night.
The sheriff’s office says the vehicle drove into a transformer box at Quality Inn on Cherry Blossom Way, causing thousands of dollars of damage. The driver then backs up and drives off.
