Scott County man charged with child sexual exploitation

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 36-year-old Daniel B. Baskin on charges related to child sexual abuse material.

Baskin was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children  investigation that began after the KSP Electronic Crime Branch allegedly discovered the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online, the KSP said in a release.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Georgetown on May 12, 2021. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s digital forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Baskin is charged with 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor, a class D felony and 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Baskin was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center. No bond has been set, according to jail records.

He is listed as being from Stockton, Calif., according to jail records.
