Scott County Fiscal Court awarded $670,000 in funds for pavement improvements

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced $670,000 in discretionary funds for vital resurfacing work on three roadways in Scott County.

Resurfacing repairs address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures.

Projects submitted to the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid for discretionary fund consideration were evaluated by the KYTC district staff to assess the condition of roads and determine the most critical needs based on factors such as safety, economic impact, and traffic volumes.

The funding allows for nearly eight miles of pavement resurfaced work to be completed on three county roads that are experiencing increased traffic volume and serve as school bus routes.

The Scott County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work, and KYTC will reimburse the county for the projects.

Resurfacing work will address:

  • Anderson Road (County Road 1003) from milepoint 0.00 to milepoint 2.958
  • Bailey Road (County Road 1007) from milepoint 0.00 to milepoint 1.955
  • Galloway Road (County Road 1218) from milepoint 0.00 to milepoint 2.758
