Scott County coroner pleads not guilty to perjury, other charges

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The coroner for Scott County was in court on Monday answering to perjury charges.

A grand jury indicted John Goble on seven counts, including perjury.

The perjury charge is related to Goble’s testimony to a grand jury about transporting donor eyeballs to an out of state eye bank.

According to the indictment, Goble told a grand jury he used his daughter’s vehicle to transport donor eyes from the Kentucky Eye Bank to West Virginia.

But prosecutors say he used his county issued coroner’s van.

Goble was also indicted on six other counts related to a KSP investigation into ammunition and guns found missing from the KSP supply branch.

Goble pleaded not guilty to all charges.
