Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Saturday evening everyone, it has been a warm and windy day across Kentucky with temperatures in the low to mid 70s and winds gusting 30mph+. Let’s start with the present and roll forward. Scattered thunderstorms are going up this evening and will last into the overnight.

A few scattered showers and rumbles of thunder may be around for Easter Sunday sunrise services.

Slot2

After a mainly dry mid to late morning, scattered thunderstorms ramp back up during the afternoon and evening and that is when a one or two can be strong to locally severe in central and northern Kentucky.

Slot3

For that reason, a “MARGINAL RISK” (level 1/5) is out for this area.

Scattered storms will fire back up Monday, especially during the afternoon and evening and a couple can be on the strong or severe side once again in northern and central Kentucky.

Slot3

Another “MARGINAL RISK” (level 1/5) is out for this area.

Slot1

Tuesday is the day to really watch as it has the opportunity to bring widespread strong to severe storms. The SPC normally only issues their outlooks up to three days, but because our threat is heightened they are already highlighting our entire area with a “SLIGHT RISK” (level 2/5).

Slot2

The exact timing and intensity of these storms is still a work in progress. As of now, these storms look likely during the afternoon and evening but timing can still change.

Slot0

A lot of rain can fall the next few days, especially in central and northern Kentucky closer to the boundary where 1″-3″ is possible. That can cause a few high water concerns.
